*Warning - This book deals with Domestic Violence*
“People say karma is a bitch but I have news for you, karma doesn’t have anything on fate when she is after blood. Not a single thing.”

Alpha Male, Damaged Heroine, Skatty Best Friend, More Hot Alpha Males, a Lost Love, a Second Chance and Lots of Steam...

What more can we ask for??

Swoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon!!

Haper Sloan has definately hit a home run with Axel - it has set the standard for the rest of the series and What a series it is shaping up to be!

The story is told initially from Izzy's POV and we meet her at a serious low point. She is in an abusive marriage - her husband is a disgusting person and has totally changed Izzy's life. But she loves him, so she puts up with it.

Until he almost kills her

Izzy is taken by her best friends to start a new life, away from the hurt and agony of her past. One of her best friends is Cage, an Ex-Forces Badass.

Cage was in the forces with Axel.
Axel was Izzy's first boyfriend.
Cage is Izzy's best priend and protector.
Cage - Axel - Izzy - Axel - Izzy - Cage...

Que all the pieces to start to fall into place.

The rest of this book is filled with Drama, Action, Fights, Misunderstandings, Tension...oh and Sex...Sex, Sex and more Sex.

“Who in the hot hunk of sex are you?”

My only complaint about this whole story was my dislike for the way Axel spoke - the beginnings of all his sentances seemed to be cut off and it took on a bit of a juvenile feel. It was REALLY getting to me by the last 10%. I.e.

“Missed you…so fucking much, Princess.”
“Never letting you go, Izzy. Never.”

Other than that - I really liked this book and will read more in the series.

  1. All of these men really are quite swoon worthy! I have to give that to them! There was a lot of misunderstanding and a HUGE lack of communication - or willingness to communicate, but the twist was bigger than I anticipated. I must completely agree with you on Axel's manner of speech. That really got on my nerves, too. That being said, I'm still looking forward to the rest of the series.
