A Moment

* * * 5 Beautiful, Heartwrenching, Sexy Stars * * *

“Moment: The dictionary defines a moment as a minute portion or point of time. But for me, it’s more. I see a moment the way a scientist does… the product of quantity (as a force) and the distance to a particular axis or point. A moment is that indefinable period in your life that only makes sense when you look back and you realize you made the right choice. I didn’t know it then, but I made the right choice and I’d do it all over again.

This is my moment…

Liliana Delgado”

Now THAT is how to write a love story!
I got this book as part of the New Adult Book club on Goodreads, and was given 3 weeks to read and review. Now, I'd just finished another 5 star book and was looking for something slightly lighter, slightly less intense and slightly more cheerful so I thought 'yeah I'll give this a go'.

How WRONG was I?!?

This book captivated me from the first page, I actually could not put it down. I was sitting at work thinking...3 hours until I can read another chapter or 2!

I finished the final chapter this morning before work and the whole 40 minute drive in, all I could think was WOW, Marie Hall can write! The story is still playing over and over in my head and I don't think it'll stop anytime soon.

This review may be a little patchy as it is very difficult to discuss this story without spoilers appearing.

Ryan is a broken man, shattered and barley existing when he meets Lili - he was in the navy and, since his departure, became a professional fighter. He likes the hurt of fighting, he likes physical hurt in general as it numbs the mental and emotional pain.

“The water hurts. Hurts so bad, it’s so damn hot, and I know I shouldn’t be sitting here like this. I’ll burn. But it’s not taking the dirty off.”

“Squeezing my eyes shut, a terrible sound draws from my mouth. One I’d never heard before. I can’t do this anymore. Can’t pretend. Can’t keep lying that it isn’t hurting, isn’t killing me a little every day.”

Lili meets Ryan through his cousin Alex who works at a local coffee shop that she frequents. On first impressions, she thinks he is a stunning, sexy, pain in the a$$!! But she feels some sort of magic attraction to him.

“There are moments in life when a sixth sense spurs you on to consider something you wouldn’t otherwise”

"Intense. Crazy. Passion"

“Eventually I stop thinking altogether.”

I can't really say much more without giving away anything and spoiling it for all you potential readers!

All I'll say is, this book is outstanding and focuses on subjects, which to some, may be a bit taboo and difficult, but Marie writes so beautifully that this book is an absolute pleasure to read and I would recommend it to anyone.

Covet by Tracey Garvis-Graves

Covet

cover_covet

http://shhmomsreading.com/arc-review-covet-by-tracey-garvis-graves/

Well, on the recommendation of Ashleigh Morgan (My BEST FRIEND EVER!), I decided to read On the Island. Now, as someone who is BEYOND TERRIFIED of flying, I had somewhat avoided this book. It starts with a plane crash. *SCARED!* As Ashleigh assured me it was "just a way to get into the book", I gave it a go.

How right was she?? This book was AMAZING...I mean truly outstanding! When I looked up Tracey's next novel, I was gutted to see that Covet wasn't due for release for a while :( I've since participated in a Q&A Session on Goodreads, kept tabs on the cover release etc and today I saw this on Twitter - Shhmomsreading got an ARC and have written a review!!

Makes me more excited for the release...Hurry up 17th September!!!

Hopeless

Hopeless

Blurb: Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

“I'm not a sucker for happily ever afters, but if these two characters don't get theirs I might climb inside this e-reader and lock them both inside that damn garage forever.”

A quote from Sky (Lead Female) - She said it & I was thinking it!

Hopeless is a beautiful book, it has twists, turns, flips and jumps - it is incredible.

Dean Holder has secrets - it started with an incident that, to some, may seem insignificant but to him changed the course of his entire life.

“My eyes trail from his hand to the tattoo written in small script across his forearm. Hopeless”

Sky is just a normal teenage girl, she has a best friend, a mother with whom she has a great relationship, she is academically clever and seems to have no worries. Until she meets Dean Holder...

This book made me cry - I mean big, fat, wet, ugly tears:

“Your heart is so beautiful and someday someone is going to love that heart like it deserves to be loved.”

This book made me laugh out loud - gut clutching laughter:

“Holder: "I thought Mormon's weren't allowed to have caffeine?"
Breckin: "I decided to break that rule the morning I woke up gay.”

I went through every emotion in the book, emotions I thought only real life could evoke - Read this, it is simply stunning.

Slammed

*****5 Outstanding Stars*****

Slammed

Slammed (Slammed, #1)

Blurb: Layken's father died suddenly, leaving her to gather every ounce of strength to be a pillar for her family, in order to prevent their world from falling apart. Now her life is taking another unexpected turn…

Layken's mother gets a job which leads to an unwanted move across country. However, a new home means new neighbours… and Layken's new neighbour is the very attractive Will Cooper.
Will has an intriguing passion for slam poetry, and a matching passion for life. The two feel an irresistible attraction but are rocked to the core when a shocking revelation brings their romance to a screeching halt.

Layken and Will must find a way to fight the forces that threaten to tear them apart… or learn to live without each other.

Oh my Suck and Sweet that was intense!

“I got schooled this yearby
a
boy
.

A boy that I'm seriously, deeply, madly, incredibly, and undeniably in love with.
And he taught me the most important thing of all...

To put the emphasis
On life
.”

Slammed is one of those books that, from the opening page, grabs you by the heart, twists and turns until all your hope is gone, and just when you think there is no way anything can get worse - it does. It kills you inside, making you weep tears of utter hopelessness and hurt. Then, only when you are in the depths of depression, something incredible happens.

Nope, that wasn't an unfinished sentance - something incredible does happen, I'm just waiting on you reading the book to find out what it is!!

Layken is just a young girl who has lost her father, moved halfway across the country and is trying to get her life on track when BOOM! Enter Will.

Sweet, handsome, sexy, loving, broken Will.

"I've never regretted it. Questioned it? Sure. But never regretted.

"Is there a difference?" I ask.

"Absolutely. Regret is counterproductive. It's looking back on a past that you can't change. Questioning things as they occur can prevent regret in the future. I questioned a lot about my relationship with your father. People make spontaneous decisions based off of their hearts all the time. There's so much more to relationships than just love
."

Coleen Hoover is an incredible writer - I'm not going to say "you should read this book". I'm TELLING you that you HAVE to read it.

The Edge of Never

*4.5-5 Stars*

The Edge of Never

Blurb: Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.

Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind.

With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.

But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew’s dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?

Stunning, Simply & Outstandingly Stunning.

J.A. Redmersky can write a story that evokes emotion, hurt, pain, love, hope, anguish, loss and togetherness like no one else.

The Story covers Camryn packing up and leaving home at the same time Andrew packs everything up and heads home. They meet on a Greyhound bus and get to know each other, this is all I can say without ruining any of the story.

There were very few negatives in this book but I subtracted 0.5* as - even though the story was incredible - there was just something missing for me. I can't put my finger on exactly what it was, but this just didn't have the "grip" like Beautiful Disaster, Slammed, Hopeless etc.

This book had me weeping tears of anguish and also of joy. A true NA romance.

Cannot wait on The Edge of Always coming out & it is definately near the top of my reading list.

Promise Me Darkness

I've had to take some time to get my thoughts straight on this before writing my review - I wasn't sure if I absolutely adored it, or if it tried to confuse me into adoring it. I thought about it for 2 days and to be honest, I'm still not 100% sure on the answer. Hmmmm. Anyway, here goes.

*This Book ends on a SERIOUS Cliff Hanger and Book 2 is not yet released (correct as of 27th May 2013)*

Promise Me Darkness

Blurb: He was my darkness and I was his light. We couldn't exist without each other."
For me, life was simple. I went to school and studied. I spent time with my friends and stayed out of trouble. I didn't drink or swear and I only dated gentlemen. I was the typical good girl with a bright future. My world seemed perfect.
But that was about to change.
Ryder Delaney was the one imperfection in my life. He was the bad boy, the black sheep, the one your mother always warned you about. He had only one hard-and-fast rule - Don't fall in love.
But some rules were meant to be broken.
We were best friends, inseparable since childhood despite our differences. I knew the real man hiding behind the tattoos and bad attitude. He knew all my secrets and dreams. But he didn't know there was one thing I wanted and couldn't have...him.
But sometimes Fate has a way of intervening. Soon our world collapsed. War erupted. Darkness prevailed. Alone and on the run, our only goal was to survive and to ignore the feelings we had for each other. But love is powerful...
and so is the darkness.

There is no doubt about it - Paige Weaver can write. I mean REALLY write.

I thought this was going to be a mushy, lovey dovey, 50 shades-esque style romance. Eh.....NO!! It is none of these.

I kind of read the beginning of the blurb, not really paying much attention to this "But sometimes Fate has a way of intervening. Soon our world collapsed. War erupted. Darkness prevailed. Alone and on the run, our only goal was to survive and to ignore the feelings we had for each other. But love is powerful". Maybe I should have, because this is where the book goes. War. Looting. Dog-eat-Dog. Hunger. Thirst. Struggles. Hurt both emotional and physical. Definately not what I seen coming.

I don't know if I liked this book or not, but I want to read more which means it must have got me somewhere inside - maybe that bit of me that would-like-to-believe-War-doesn't-exist-but-knows-I'm-lying bit.

Don't go into this with false expectations - pay attention to the reviews and go in with your eyes wide open.

The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window

*5 Outstanding Stars*

The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window

The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window

Blurb: Amber Walker and her older brother, Jake, have an abusive father. One night her brother's best friend, Liam, sees her crying and climbs through her bedroom window to comfort her. That one action sparks a love/hate relationship that spans over the next eight years.

Liam is now a confident, flirty player who has never had a girlfriend before. Amber is still emotionally scarred from the abuse she suffered at the hands of her father. Together they make an unlikely pair.

Their relationship has always been a rocky one, but what happens when Amber starts to view her brother's best friend a little differently? And how will her brother, who has always been a little overprotective, react when he finds out that the pair are growing closer?

“He turned to me, and do you know what he said to me ? He said in a deadly serious tone, 'Momma, am I dead?' And I said 'no honey, you're not dead', and he shook his head, looking all confused about something. Then he pointed to you dancing and said, 'if I'm not dead, then why is there an Angel in our house.'”

This is my Favourite Book. Ever. Well...my Favourite YA novel anyway. I have lots of favourite books but this is my FAVOURITE FAVOURITE!

Kirsty Moseley is an amazing author - This was the first ever book of hers I picked up and I'll shamefully admit that it was the cover that sucked me in *Hangs head in Shame*. However, was it not for my want of an aesthetically pleasing cover, I would never have stumbled upon this gem of a book.

This starts off quite unbelievably - a boy sneaks in his neighbours window every night for almost 10 years and NEVER gets caught? Hmmm, not buying it. Ladies and Gents - GET PAST IT, allow yourself to be a fantacist for a few hundred pages, because once you let youself into Amber and Liam's world, you will fall head over heels in love with them and their families.

I'm a big believer in telling people how I felt reading a book rather than the story so here goes, I'll try to unjumble my emotions for a few minutes and put them down on paper...

Happy
Tearful
Hurt
Loved
Young
Too old for my years
Pretty
Sexy
Ugly
Adored
Hated
Heart broken
Empty
Fulfilled
And finally...Mushy(!)

I know all of the above are contradictions but that is how good this book is - it takes you places you never thought you would want to go.

If ratings went any higher, this would get 100+*'s.

Grace suddenly has a lot of work to do, which involves trying to stay out of trouble even though Cole seems determined to get her into it and keeping her affair with Mr Vincent a secret.

But when not all goes to plan, what will happen once the Badboy knows her secret?

NOTE: This is an unpublished book by makeandoffer and can be found on www.wattpad.com - I suggest you get yourself an account there if you don't already have one, there are some cracking books and great authors :)

This is one of those "Oh I'll give it a bash" books. I couldn't get onto my Kindle, iPad or Android phone as I was manning the phones at work so I started reading this on Wattpad on the PC and was VERY plesantly surprised.

This book had plenty of humour, plenty of lust, hilarious characters and a great storyline. It is definately a YA book, not NA but that's ok with me - I like to go back in years sometimes haha!

It's a relativley short book, so if you have an hour to spare, give this a go - you will laugh your head off.

Wait for You

*3.5-4*

Wait for You

Wait for You (Wait for You, #1)

“You've been checking me out, haven't you? In between your flaming insults? I feel like man candy.”

Blurb...
Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

Wait for You covers a topic which has been written by others - some well, some not so well. I sort of felt like I'd read the story before somewhere.

This book was definately well written and Cam was an adoreable lead male.

I can see why some people rave about it, unfortunately I'm just not one of them.

Bad Rep

**4 Solid Stars**

Bad Rep

“It matters to me, Mays. It matters a lot. I don't like seeing some other guy touching you. Not when it should be me touching you”

Bad Rep (Bad Rep, #1)

Blurb:
"Who gives a damn about their reputation? Oh, that would be me! Especially since mine had gone straight to hell in the span of thirty minutes".
Maysie Ardin is soaking up the summer before her junior year of college, shopping, hanging by the pool and shopping some more. But when her black belt in spending lands her in trouble with her parents, she is forced to take a second job at a local bar to dig herself out of a deep financial pit.
She thought she’d be miserable. But then Maysie didn’t count on Jordan Levitt, the hot, pierced and tattooed, drum playing bartender who also happens to be very interested in her. And the feelings are totally mutual.
It had the makings of the perfect romantic set up. Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Boy has girlfriend? Okay, maybe not.
But attraction is a hard thing to ignore and soon Jordan and Maysie find themselves in the middle of a gossip induced firestorm. Maysie has to learn whether she can set aside her fear of public disapproval in order to be with the one she wants. Or will she let the opinions of others dictate her life and her heart?

Let me start by saying I'm a bit of a book snob, I only really read a book if its got 4.00 or more of a score on goodreads - unless someone reccommends it to me. My best Friend Ashleigh Morgan reccommended this and I'm so glad she did *CHEESY SMILE*

The blurb tells you everything you need to know in regards to the storyline (but I might just be trying to get out of writing a blurb of my own because I SUCK at writing blurbs!)
Maysie is a typical New Adult - she is in College, trying to find her identity, working to pay off debt and in between trying to have a good time.
Jordan is one HOT piece of ass. He is sexy, funny, loving, bad-boy-but-good-boy-at-heart and just Scrummy :)

This book had me laughing out loud in places, going all Gosh you make my heart go all Squishy in others and getting all hot and bothered in between.

My only complaint is that at points I found Maysie to be rather immature and too concerned with other peoples opinions but that might just be my personality.

Favourite Quotes
“You're right, baby. We began out of something ugly. But what we became was something beautiful. I just wish I could make you see that.”

“Why, Maysie? What more do you need me to tell you? Haven't I already handed my fucking guts to you on a platter? What else do you need to hear?”

“I'm sorry if I pissed you off.I'm sorry if I acted like a fucker. But I'm not sorry for chasing off that pansy ass that used to have what's mine.Because you're my girl now and I won't have that asshole sniffing around where he doesn't belong.”

If you are looking for an easy read with tons of angst and sexual tension - this is the book for you. I read it in 2 days (4 sittings) and laughed hard.

Going Under

**3 Stars**

Going Under

I think I may upset a few people with this review but here goes...

**WARNING - There is a graphic rape scene in this book - if you are offended or upset by these, give this one a miss**

Firstly, I'll start by saying this book was well written and very descriptive.

Things I Liked:

The Video Game Scene

Brooke's Dad

Gretchen

Things I disliked:

Brooke - she was a guilt ridden, immature, fantasy filled teenager. I so wanted to love her but just couldn't bring myself to feel anything other than irritation for her.

The slow start to the book - I was 54% of the way through before there was an "event".

The Clichéd ending - I saw it coming a mile away.

There was one shock moment for me and even then, it was a minor "OH" moment.

Overall, I wasn't really a fan of this book and I had to force myself to finish it.

This Girl

Those are the hardest pieces of all to accept.
The pieces of our puzzle
That just don't belong

This final instalment of the Slammed series was told from Will's point of view and flashes back from their current lives to how they came to be together. It tells the story of slammed and point of retreats main moments, giving different pieces of info from what we were given in the first two books which makes it utterly captivating.

I laughed.
I cried.
I smiled.
I hurt.
I ached.
But more than anything...

I Felt.

For those who have read Slammed and Point of Retreat, this book is an awesome final installment.
“You're in love with her, aren't you?" I pause. Am I? I sign and clasp my hands behind my head, not sure what to say. "I'm trying so hard not to be," I say quietly, admitting it to myself for the first time.”
These three books will stay with me for a long time, and in the best possible way.

Falling into You

Falling into You

"You need to let yourself feel. Feel it, own it. Then move on"

This quote hits home - I felt this book. I owned this book. Now I need to move on. That could be easier said than done because this was such a stunningly beautiful book.

Blurb:

I wasn't always in love with Colton Calloway; I was in love with his younger brother, Kyle, first. Kyle was my first one true love, my first in every way.
Then, one stormy August night, he died, and the person I was died with him.

Colton didn't teach me how to live. He didn't heal the pain. He didn't make it okay. He taught me how to hurt, how to not be okay, and, eventually, how to let go.

This book starts when Nell and Kyle are 16, innocent and honest. Typical teenagers. This is very refreshing for a book which covers such grief-ridden topics.

The blurb tells you all you need to know about how the books goes and this usually would put me off - instead this book is so much more.

Rather than tell you about the story, I'm going to tell you how it made me feel...

First 10% - Giddy. Young.

“I know most people would say we're just kids, or to young too know what love is. But screw that. I've known you my whole entire life. We have shared everything together.”

20%-30% - Distraught, broken, tearful

30%-50% - Nothing. Numb. Like Nell. Like Colton

“She'll hurt me. I know this. I can see it, feel it coming. She's got so much pain, so many cracks and shards and jags in her soul, and I'm going to get cut by her if I'm not careful.”

50%-70% - So incredibly turned on! (Hey, at least I'm honest!)
“You bite your lip, and I want to take that lip into my mouth and suck on it like popsicle. I want to lick your lips and bite them and kiss you until you're fucking lost and gasping and puddled on the floor.” Well...shit. I want that.”

70%-80% - Distraught...again. I couldnt break anymore or I would never recover. Hurt, cold, weepy. But not Lonley, Colton was there for me :)

80%-95% - MORE Broken than before. Not possible, or so I thought.

“Fermented grief is far more potent”

95%-100% - Hopeful. Relieved. Happy. Loved
“I’m not just falling in love with you, Nell. I’m falling into you. You’re an ocean, and I’m falling in, drowning in the depths of who you are. Like you said, it’s scary in a way, but it’s also the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced. You are the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced.”

I dont honestly know how to recover from this book, I thought it would be an easier read after In The Stillness, but I was SO wrong. This book touched me in ways I didn't think possible and will stay with me for a long time to come.

I so wanted to give it 5 stars but I felt the last 30% was very, very rushed - I wanted this story to go on forever and didnt want this feeling to affect my rating. So I've given myself time to mull over things and still feel that the final part was too rushed so I've reduced my rating by 0.25.

Be prepared when you read this book, it is a rollercoaster of emotions but So So So Beautiful.

Real

Blurb:
A fallen boxer.
A woman with a broken dream.
A competition…

He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…

Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.

He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .

But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.

I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.

If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?

This book was fantastic for a debut novel. It was filled with sexual tension and I adored the characters from Brooke and Remy to Pedro and Melanie.

Overview: Remy is an fighter who has been kicked out of the main league for unknown reasons (revealed in book). It covers Remy meeting Brooke and the ensuing story between them.

Remy is beautiful, broken, sexy, hot, bad tempered, loving, messed up, full of character, muscled, blue eyed, black eyed and overall just amazing. He is written in such a way that he feels beyond real - his flaws are real and this makes the story all the better.

Brooke is a fallen athlete who is looking for a new direction in life and finds it in Remy.

Well worth a read and one of my favourite books this year...can't wait on the sequel! Xx

Blurb: They say that your school years are supposed to be the best years of your life, and that you should make the most of them because you’ll miss them when you’re all grown up. Up until Maisie Preston’s senior year, she would have totally agreed with that statement. Life was great, she had everything going for her, excellent grades, great parents, an annoying yet caring twin brother, and an impossibly sweet boyfriend. Everything was perfect - that is until the arrival of Zach Anderson. A misfit delinquent that seemed to bring with him a lot of bad karma. Is it just a coincidence that his arrival marks a significant change in Maisie’s life? Up until senior year, life was perfect, but things seem to be going downhill fast.

It's book is a spin off from Always You which tells the story of Riley and Clay - note: I'd read always you first, not because you need to but for 2 reasons...

1. This book gives away the ending of always you
2. Always you is an awesome book

Kirsty's writing style is unique, touching, heartfelt, very relatable and very very loving. She can describe innocent, mesmerising and all consuming love like no other author I've ever read.

Things I liked:
Maisie
Zachary
Riley and Clay of course!

Things I disliked:
Not understanding why Zach was in the story
The amount the school featured (for a YA, I was expecting more college-ish scenarios)

All in all this is a touching read, I saw the ending a mile away but that's because I read the first 16 chapters when this was an unpublished book on wattpad.

If your looking for a summer, beach, not too deep book - this is for you. Not Kirsty's best but love it none the less xx

In the Stillness

***5 Heartbreaking, Wonderful Stars***

In The Stillness

Natalie is a wife.
Natalie is a mother.
Natalie is a cutter.

Clawing at walls built by resentment, regret, and guilt, Natalie cuts as an escape from a life she never planned.

Staying present is only possible when you let go of the past. But, what if the past won't let go?

This is one of those "Oh I'm not sure that will be my cup of tea / The storyline seems a bit dark / I dont deal well with reading about self harm / I'll put it to the bottom of my pile" books.

Well Ladies and Gents - THINK AGAIN! This books is absolutely stunning. It broke my heart in many places, but put it back together again in others.

Natalie self harms - there is no getting away from this. She uses razor blades to slice her skin until she bleeds. That is tough to read - but you will understand why she does it. She is numb to the pain, as the reader becomes numb to the grit and horror of reading about someone who wants to do this to themselves. GET PAST IT PEOPLE - the story is so much more than just self harm, it is a mere speck in this beautiful story.

Put this to the top of your reading list - you will be hooked from the first line...

I exist. Right?
